The Snark
We are all looking for something in our lives.
A hectic struggle for attention, prestige, power, lust and love.
Our inner motives, our secret desires, our subconscious machinery
are all obscured by clouds of doubt and uncertainty.
Taboo and prejudice hinder honesty.
The painful truth lies hidden behind pernicious propaganda.
We chase after an invisible goal; the purpose of life.
Or maybe it’s not as complicated as it seems?
All these issues are swept away when you just curtail your intellect.
Two plus one equals… a hard sum when counting holds no meaning to you.
What time is it when the clock says five to twelve? What time is dinner?
Does an orange harbour a soul beneath its peel?
What does it mean to know that your IQ-score lies below sixty?
Theater Maatwerk takes you on an absurd journey through a maze of confusions, turbid dreams, dark longings and shady memories. Answers in search of questions, unbiased preconceptions, an aimless haunt. This play is inspired on the poem of Lewis Caroll: The hunting of the Snark.
Theater Maatwerk creates stage plays performed by mentally handicapped actors, but that goes without saying.
