The Bearded Woman, contortionists, an ostrich, the Spider Lady, musicians and assorted thrills! Show op, show up. Erendira's Carnival is in town!
Erendira, burdened with her grandmother's stupendous debts, finds herself amidst this ragtag hodgepodge of carnivalista's, all of whom are trying to take advantage of the fateful corruptions visited upon her. The carnival around Erendira is lost in time ; past, present and future intertwine.
Odysseus, a shy and simple smuggler's son, takes pity on her. To escape her fate, Erendira asks Odysseus to take her grandmother’s life. Will this spell the end of this incredible, yet tragic, history?
