Theater Maatwerk creates theater performances with mentally challenged actors for over twenty years. They started in daycare centre Heemraadssingel in Rotterdam, with two mornings a week, doing theatre exercises. In 1989 the group moves to daycare centre De Buut, where the programme blossoms to the full five days a week of rehearsing. Since 1996 Theater MAatwerk has it's owm little theatre at the Willem Buytewechstraat, in the ever so cultural disctrict of Delfshaven, Rotterdam.

Theater Maatwerk creates indoor performances, but also street performances. With these performances we travel throughout entire Europe. from Denmark to Spain and From France to the Czech Republic.

Theater Maatwerk works with it's regular group of actors and employees. We offer various activities five days a week, like theatre coaching, dance, voice coaching and yoga. All these activities together lead to the creation of an indoor or street performance. Most of the actors work full-time. A few actors are also musician.

Every year we create a new play. We can do this ourselves or with a guest stage manager. We perform them on stage or at the streets, about 40 times a year.
